OUR TRIBUTE TO DANIEL MISLICKI

Daniel Mislicki, one of Beaconsfield’s greats, has hung up his boots due to on-going problems with an injury, ending his stellar playing career at Beaconsfield.
He is much loved by all at Beaconsfield and is held in the highest esteem as a player and a person. Affectionally known as “Slicka” the following gives a brief summary of his playing career with us:

• Joined Beaconsfield Football Club U/17’s in 1999 & played alongside Chris Newman in that year’s runners up team.
• Graduated to the seniors in 2000 and was awarded West Gippsland’s “Rookie of the Year” title.
• Played in senior premierships in 2001, 2003, 2004 & 2014 when he received the medal for “Best on Ground”.
• Dual “Best & Fairest” winner in 2007 and 2011 and Runner Up on 4 occasions
• Captained the interleague team in 2011 & 2012 and was a representative player on numerous occasions
• Daniel finishes his playing career on 273 club games for Beaconsfield, including 266 senior games, second only to Troy Cashman (371).
• Daniel has been one of the most popular and modest players within the Casey Cardinia League and South East FNL and is highly respected throughout the competition.
• He also holds the distinction of being the club’s longest serving captain in its 127 years, holding this position from the 2008 season through to 2016 (when he co-captained with Scott Meyer). A true testament to how highly regarded he is by the players.

These impressive achievements are only part of Slicka’s legacy at Beaconsfield where he has been an inspirational leader and the heart & soul of our team. Right to his final games, where he returned from a long-term injury to help the Reserves due to a numbers shortage, he continued to show the way to his younger teammates with his great attack on the ball and his ability to lift when his team needed it most.

The Mislicki clan were a constant support to him at all Beacy games, with his boys Kadyn & Darcy always kicking the footy around & keeping wife Sarah on her toes, along with daughter Lila, and his parents Carol and Peter.

Daniel will not be lost to football as he has taken on an assistant coaching role at Noble Park in the Eastern District FL 1st division to further his coaching knowledge & aspirations. We at Beaconsfield Football club have been privileged to watch Daniel’s wonderful career over the past 18 years and we know that he has left an indelible legacy on his teammates and our club through his actions, example and inspiration.

Daniel has our club’s best wishes as he embarks on this new chapter in his football journey and we’ll keep the home fires burning in anticipation that he’ll return to coach at Beacy in the future. Until then, all the best to Slicka and his family and we hope to see him around the club when his busy schedule allows.
